Our criminal law practice focuses on a whole spectrum of criminal offences ranging from capital offences to thefts and narcotic cases. We uphold the rule of law that every accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law in a fair trial and is entitled to legal representation.

As many of our criminal law lawyers have previous relevant experience in enforcement, prosecution and the judiciary, we are able to advise our clients on the criminal process from any practical angle and on all kinds of offences. These lawyers also participate actively in the Law Society Criminal Legal Aid Scheme, contribute to criminal law revision committees and regularly volunteer for court-assigned cases.

Apart from criminal defence work, our lawyers also act as prosecuting counsel in quasi-criminal work such as disciplinary committees set up by professionals, including medical practitioners, architects and accountants.

From time to time, our criminal law lawyers work closely with our Regulatory Compliance and Commercial Fraud Practice Group and adopt a cross disciplinary approach especially in cases involving large and established corporations, financial institutions and senior management and staff.
