Our Sports and Media Practice Group is one of the first of its kind in Singapore and has the expertise to advise on all international, regional and local rules, regulations, guidelines and requirements relating to various sports as well as the legal considerations pertinent to conducting a sporting event, whether in Singapore or elsewhere. We have extensive experience in setting up or re-organising sports associations and in reviewing relationships with international federations.

Some of the notable transactions which our lawyers have been involved in include:

• Acted for a leading leisure developer Sentosa Development Corporation in respect of the drafting, negotiation and execution of the agreement in relation to the 2009 to 2012 editions of the Barclays Singapore Open which encompassed intricate arrangements involving cash and venue sponsorship; assignment of broadcast, marketing and intellectual property rights; and mechanisms for commission payment The Barclays Singapore Open is a premier world-class professional golf tournament held at Sentosa Golf Cub. 

• Retained as legal advisers to Netball Singapore in hosting the World Netball Championship Singapore 2011. Netball Singapore won the bid to host the World Netball Championship which is to be held in Singapore 2011.
  
  
• Advised Singapore Badminton Association on the following matters:
  

  -	Hosting and Sponsorship Agreement for the organization and hosting of the Super Series Tournament in Singapore;
  -	Appointment of a public relations agency to act as event organizer for its tournaments;
  -	Appointment of title sponsor and official sponsors for the Aviva Open Singapore 2007 and ancillary agreements relating to the Aviva Open, such as creative agency agreement, promotional video contract and venue hiring agreement; and

• Advised DWA Management Pte Ltd, which owns a major international motorsports racing team currently competing at the Super Taikyu Endurance Series in Japan for 2007/2008 and had competed at the Asia Touring Cars Championship from 2005 to 2006, at the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) and the BTCC Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championships from 2002 to 2004 and at the South African Touring Car Championships from 1999 to 2001.
